9.11 Tribute “Raise it up” Terrance Lynch

I am an amateur artist who wrote a song about 9.11 immediately following the attacks. I have never published it but have always enjoyed it as it gave me personal comfort. At a garage sale three weeks ago I purchased some items from the white house and pentagon from Jackie Lynch, wife of Terrance Lynch, who gave his life in the attack on the pentagon on 9.11. I was so compelled by the passion of her story, even though I new nothing of her husband, that it made my think of my song and return home and look up Terrance. It literally brought me to tears, many year after the event and even made me think of my song. I could not listen to it months after recording it because of the emotion spent on the lyrics, playing, and singing. I bring it to you now as a tribute, for men and women that exhibited the courage that I “will never find” and praise God every day that we have men and women in this country that have, and exhibit, that kind of courage daily! God Bless America!

Lyrics:

It was a bright sunny morning
The sky was a s blue as the sea.
People on their way to work
All across the land of the free.
Then the word came down, from radio and tv.
The high cost of freedom came down to you and me.

We will fight for the way that we live
Understand that we’ll never give in

Raise it up
Raise it up
Raise it up
Raise it up

Well the faded cloud of smoke revealed
The brothers and sisters we’d lost
All the nations…everywhere
Shared in the cost
Hero’s that we’d never met
Lastingly etched in our mind
Sacrifice without regret
Courage we’d never find

We will fight for the way that we live
Understand that we’ll never give in

Raise it up
Raise it up
Raise it up
Raise it up….yea

Lead

Raise it up
Raise it up
Raise it up
Raise it up
